An August weekend in Comporta
Three days, one house, eighty friends and the sea. Notes on photographing a wedding weekend rather than a wedding day.
Comporta weddings rarely last a single day. Guests arrive on Friday, there is a long lunch on Saturday, and on Sunday everyone ends up at the beach whether it was planned or not.
For Maria and João I stayed for the whole weekend. Some of my favourite photographs from their wedding were taken on the Friday night, before anything official had happened.
